Excellence in academics is a key component in fulfilling DMCA’s mission to educate the whole child. Our curriculum is guided by both the Next Generation Florida Standards and the Diocesan standards. While these standards provide the framework, our approach to teaching students focuses on real world applications of material. Classrooms throughout our academy are busy with students who are actively engaged in the learning process through discovery-based learning, problem solving, and collaboration with their peers. Various methods of differentiation are used to meet the needs of every child.
Recognizing that each of us plays an important role in the success of our students, our faculty works closely with one another to cultivate an environment of learning that fosters child development. Teachers often collaborate to design interdisciplinary and cross-curricular lessons. We encourage a partnership with parents and family, acknowledging the importance of a strong working relationship within our community. It is through all these efforts we can proudly say that using national standardized testing, Divine Mercy Catholic Academy ranks 3rd in ITBS test results out of all K-8 schools throughout the Diocese of Orlando
