Mini Notes – 10/18/17

For $5…….Students (and adults) may wear jeans and your favorite team jersey on Thursday, October 19.  Proceeds go directly to benefit the victims in Puerto Rico of Hurricane Maria.  The church continues to collect hygiene items for PR also.   This collection location is in the narthex/entryway of the church and continues for a couple of weeks.

I apologize to second grade…. Gravy is a change from last week’s request…. If you purchased yams instead, we will take ‘em!

Divine Mercy Trunk and Treat is  Friday Oct 27th!!!  Don’t miss out on the fun! If you are decorating a car/truck, trunk or whatever please be at the parking lot between 4:30  and 5:45pm.

  • All participating vehicles must be in place by 5:45pm. You will have plenty of time to decorate your car. Remember this is a family fun event-please keep the overly scary and gory decor at home.
  • Award categories include: Best Overall Decorated Car,  Funniest theme, Best Dressed Family, Best Treat/handout , Most Creative, and of course The People’s Choice Award.
  • Though Fido and Fluffy may be members of your family, please no pets. Additionally, no bicycles, skateboards, or scooters.
  • Trick or treating will commence at 6:15pm. If you are not decorating a car, please consider donating candy to help supplement when supplies go low. (Drop off at school office)
  • In addition to trick or treating we will have the 8th grade fundraiser of food, water and bake sales.
  • Want to volunteer to help? Meet at the DMCA parking lot Friday at 4:00pm day of event to assist with set up, parking and traffic flow.

DMCA is celebrating Red Ribbon Week from October 23-27, 2017.   Here are our plans for the Theme Days:

Monday: “Team up against drugs” – Students may wear a favorite team jersey with uniform shorts/skirts.
Tuesday:  “Don’t go crazy and do drugs!” – Students may have “crazy hair”. Regular uniform.
Wednesday:  Be a Charger and make a difference! – Charger t-shirts, sports jerseys, or blue and gold.  Show your Charger spirit!
Thursday:  “Put Drugs to Sleep” – Students may wear school appropriate pajamas and bring a favorite stuffed animal.
Friday: “I CAN help put a CAP on drugs.” – Bring in a canned food item for St. Vincent de Paul.  Students may wear a hat or cap after mass.

NUT day attire must follow school appropriate dress code per the student handbook or students will be sent to the office to call home for a change of clothes.

TAH DAH!!   We are launching the ANNUAL CAR RAFFLE program this weekend!    That’s right…… this is our LARGEST fundraiser and it requires the support of all our families.    This weekend the pre-school and kindergarten students will be working after the Masses with their smiling faces  J

Liturgical Dancers are starting their weekly rehearsals for Christmas Mass on Wednesday, October 25 from 4:30 – 5:30 in the church.  Students 2nd grade and older that have had dance training are welcome.   For information and to sign up please email Mrs. Liz
