What’s for Lunch?

At Divine Mercy, there is a yummy solution to the age-old question, “What’s for lunch?” Mrs. Giemza offers delicious, homemade, and appetizing lunches prepared daily in our kitchen.

Once you take a look at the menus, you will see what I’m talking about. Chicken quesadillas with all the fixings, scrumptious hamburgers and cheeseburgers, and spaghetti with garlic bread are just a few of the most popular items. A few oldies but goodies, such as sloppy Joes and tater tot casserole, show occasionally. It is interesting to observe the students try different offerings and realize they like something new.

The most popular lunch item is pizza! Mrs. Giemza orders cheese pizza from a local pizza restaurant and bakes cookies to accompany the order.

The DMCA school lunch program has adopted several policies that are friendly to the environment. After eating lunch, rather than using disposable products, students place their plates, glasses, and silverware in a tray that is headed for the dishwasher!

Students enjoy the food; therefore, the amount of waste has been drastically reduced.
